BATTING
Instruction
Knee-Elbow (Max effort)
The Knee Drive & Elbow Drive are what generate power and energy for the ‘swing’.
We want our batters to put as much effort as possible into driving the Knee and Elbow straight forward.
Hard-Quick = Elbow-Wrist
(‘Fast-Faster’ is another way to express ‘Hard-Quick’)
Once a batter creates maximum force with the Knee & Elbow (Large Muscles), the small muscles, that work the Wrist, take that energy and accelerate it, with a straight-line Wrist Snap, to conclude the ‘swing’.
The effort of driving the Knee & Elbow is ‘Hard’; the movement of the Wrist is ‘Quick’. (If we vocalized ‘Hard’, it would be a deep, gruff tone. Vocalizing ‘Quick’ would be a light, airy tone.)
The Elbow moves ‘Fast’; the Wrist moves ‘Faster’ (Fast-Faster).
