Instruction
Elbow to Elbow (Bottom Hand Control)
The Elbow Drive takes place before the hands begin to work (there is some forward movement of the hands, to the area near the back armpit, as a result of the Elbow Drive)

Objective is to limit the movement of the Bottom Hand/Lead arm as much as possible.

Leg Lift (optional…if kids use it, practice when drills below call for Stride)
Set Position with hands together, and centered, at chest.
Stride Foot comes up ...and back, to a point even with Drive Leg
Down a Slide
Stride foot goes down at approximately a 45 degree angle^
Just prior to landing, the stride foot ‘levels out’^ and reaches forward towards the catcher
^ The path of the stride foot is like going down a slide; a slide doesn’t shoot the rider into the ground, it levels out at the bottom.
